(This event is now over, however you still have time to buy places on the island if you need to).
This is a new event that first appeared in the valentines update 2016. It unlocks the Tropical Romance Island, which you can get to from the Sea Voyage Boat. You have 14 days to complete it (if you have VIP Perks you will not be able to add a time extension). If you don’t manage to finish it within the time limit, don’t worry because it will probably be back soon.
This event is the same as the Spa Event that came at the beginning of the year, but it has a tropical romance island theme instead.
When the event starts there will be a set of tasks you will need to follow. At some point you will need to buy a banana plant. You can buy banana plants from the home store, in the Events Tab. The first plant you buy is free, the next one costs 2,000Simoleons, then 4,000Simoleons, the last one will cost 5SP. Once you have placed the banana plants in a lot you will need to collect some bananas, do this by clicking on them and selecting one of the options (you can also collect bonuses from tapping the little fruits that appear while your Sim is collecting). The first time you collect bananas it will only take 12secs to get 50 bananas, however after the first time it will take at least 3hrs 30mins to collect 315.
After you have collected your first few bananas you will be able to purchase a ticket to go to the Tropical Romance Island. You will be able to buy a ticket by clicking on the small circle (which has a picture of a heart in the middle of 2 palm trees) in the top left hand corner of your screen. The task will then say to visit the Island, when you visit it you will see that there are still places unlocked, you will be able to unlock these places by collecting fruit and when you get enough you will be able to purchase them in the same way you purchased the ticket.
One of the tasks will want you to use the Event Spin Flower. This can be done by going into the events tab and buying a coin flower patch (it is free every time you buy it) and place it in a lot. Select the flower patch and select the free spin plant (after you have done it once it will cost you 450 bananas), when you spin the flowers they will give you constructor points to help purchase places for the island.
When you click on the circle in the top left corner of the screen you will see that there is more than one tab. The main tab is the Personal Progress tab where you can see your personal progress and purchase new places for the island. The next tab is the Daily Goals tab, where you can earn things like constructor coins (these coins will also help to purchase places) for doing doing certain tasks. The other tab is the Global Community tab, every player contributes to the global community progress whenever they collect something in this event, when we reach a milestone there will be a prize.
Remember, you can also collect bonuses while sims are collecting the fruit. You can collect these by clicking the small fruits above a sim’s head, it might only give you one more fruit but you can collect more bonuses every few second and it adds up to quite a bit.
If you forget which lot you put the fruit in, the house will have an icon that flashes every so often.
